The Practitioner
Founder and Lead Facilitator
Charlie has been training and performing in the theatre and performance industry for over fourteen years. He started out training as an actor but has become more interested in developing a multi-modal practice. He has branched out into a wide variety of other training practices such as contemporary dance, stage combat, gymnastics, martial arts, yoga, aerial performance and circus skills.
By the end of his research master's in Theatre and Performance at Plymouth Conservatoire, Charlie’s practice became focused on investigating the subject of unhealthy masculinities, particularly, how performer training processes can help to educate participants on the possibility for new, healthier expressions of masculine identity. He has since produced a peer-reviewed journal article on the subject for the Performance and Mindfulness Journal.
He is now a dedicated theatre and movement facilitator and has been working across Plymouth with several organisations Including but not limited to Barbican Theatre, Creative Curiosities, Exim Dance Company, Plymouth Conservatoire, With Flying Colours Project, Yskynna and more.
